Chains of Steel Player's GuideThe Player's Guide is a supplement for Vampire: the Masquerade, detailing how to play in the Chains of Steel worlds. This guide will look at how a player, be they new or old, gets the most from the game world. Also included here are a number of other documents that will enable experienced vampire players to mark the largest deviations from Canon. This document is also a collection together of other documents that have been written to explain the game world and the systems through which the game world works. So some of the material here might be familiar to some of the more involved players. As with all supplements published for the Chains of Steel campaign, this is 'open source', please feel free to appendices, notes, comments and any other 'value added contributions'. This Guide will look at:
TerminologyThroughout this document the same terminology will be used.Characters refers to characters, be they referee controlled or not (i.e. NPCs and PCs) Players refers to players, "real life" individuals that control characters. Referee (ref) refers to the Storyteller, or GM, of a campaign. Scenario refers to a story, or a small adventure. Campaign is a collection of scenarios (also called a chronicle). Game refers to the collective of players, referee and campaign. Who should use this guide? This guide is aimed at players and refs that play within the Chains of Steel game world, and affiliated games. It should tell players what the various officers can and cannot do, and how the status system works. It will not tell PCs how to screw over Princes (although all of the information is here to enable players to work out how to do those sorts of things). The guide is focused primarily at the email campaign.
